Oil-Flooded vs Oil-Free: What’s the Difference?
Oil-Flooded Compressors use oil in the compression chamber to cool, seal and lubricate. They’re ideal for general industry and construction where a small amount of oil carryover (filtered if needed) is acceptable.
Oil-Free Compressors, by contrast, are engineered to ensure no oil comes into contact with the air. They deliver the highest purity standards (Class 0 or 1) and are essential for industries where air quality is critical—like food, beverage, pharma, and electronics.
